Our Approach
You are welcomed as a part of the team.
We work collaboratively with you, the land, and local nurseries as we weave together the needs and resources of each. We take time to explore plant + design options, create clear and detailed estimates, and make sure you understand future maintenance before we move forward. On the jobsite, you are always welcome to learn with us and the crew.
You receive quality plants and materials.
We harvest the best quality soil, project materials, and plants for your project from a mosaic of local growers and suppliers. Using the specifics of size, cost, and variety to guide me, We purchase from different sources to create a tapestry of healthy plants and materials.
- Our local nursery sources include: Wing and A Prayer Nursery, Nasami Farm, Nourse Farms, Amherst Nurseries, Sudbury Nurseries West (no retail), New England Wetland Plants (no retail), Van Berkum Nursery (no retail), and Northern Nursery (no retail).
- Our local project material sources include: Greenfield Farmers Cooperative Exchange, Amherst Farmers Supply, The Whole Tree, Martin’s Farm, and Bear Path Compost.
- Our online nursery sources include: NOFA, Fedco, Oikos Tree Crops, North Creek Nurseries, and Raintree Nursery.
You are guided in the care of your new plants.
We support your relationship with each new plant, so you can understand their life cycle through the seasons. This can include sharing their names, pollination style, pruning + mulching needs, and other details. Before the installation is complete, I make sure your watering systems are set up and easy to use and you understand how to water and/or protect from drought.
You receive continued support.
We are available to provide maintenance for the first two years. This can be on a weekly, biweekly, or monthly basis. We are also available for no-cost check-ins, to make sure all is going well and to spot any issues before they become a problem. We recommend a check-in 2-3 weeks after installation, 2-3 months after, and at the beginning of each season.
